Trevor Hambayi

Senior Managing Partner - Development Finance Associates (DFA)


Trevor Hambayi, has extensive global experience spanning over 20 years, both within the private sector and quasi government organizations, which includes stints with the UN in a conflict zone, investment analysis with a US based financial institution and consultancies with aid organizations and industry specific associations in Zambia.


Mr. Hambayi, a Financial Analyst and currently a PhD research Fellow with the University of Bolton, advocates for the African continent's economic emancipation through improved access to finance for SMEs. He is Senior Managing Partner at Development Finance Associates, a Social Enterprise Fund Management Company that supports social investment in start-ups covering grants, debt finance and equity investment. Mr. Hambayi consults on matters relating to finance that include, investment, funding sources for business enterprises, financing models, economic stimulus, bond issuance and private sector interventions to economic growth.


Mr. Hambayi holds a Masters Degree of Science (MSc) in Finance from the University of New York - Zicklin School of Business and a Diploma in Agriculture from the University of Zambia- National Resources Development College (NRDC).

Chance Kabaghe, Msc

Executive Director – Indaba Agricultural Policy Research Institution (IAPRI)


Mr. Kabaghe has more than 25 years' experience in agricultural policy and agribusiness analysis. His experience spans from lecturing at the University of Zambia in the School of Agricultural Sciences before becoming the first Chief Executive Officer of the Zambia Food Reserve Agency [FRA] from 1995 to 2001. He also served as a Member of Parliament and later as Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives in charge of Agriculture Marketing and Planning between 2001 and 2006. As a business entrepreneur, Mr Kabaghe chairs the Boards of some key agribusinesses in Zambia such as SeedCo International Zambia Limited, Zambia Agricultural Commodity Exchange [ZAMACE] and also sits on the COMESA Business Council. Mr. Kabaghe has in the past been involved in the development of many agricultural policies in Zambia such as the Agricultural Marketing Bill, Food Reserve Act, Agricultural Credit Act, and the Cotton Act, among others.


Mr. Kabaghe holds a Masters Degree in Agricultural Economics from London University (WYE) and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from the University of Zambia

Charity Chanda Lumpa

Board Chairperson – Zambia National Commercial Bank (ZANACO) Plc


Ms Lumpa is an accomplished executive and leader with over 32 years working experience in the insurance, banking, tourism and telecommunications industries. She has previously held the positions of Managing Director of the Zambia National Tourism Board, Ecobank Zambia Limited and Airtel Networks Zambia Plc where she was the first female and Zambian to be appointed into the role. To her achievements is having successfully set up Ecobank Zambia Limited as a greenfield financial institution in 2008 and became its founding Managing Director.


Ms Lumpa is the first female Board Chairman of Zanaco Plc and of the St. Ignatius College of the Jesuits. She is a member of the boards of Air Namibia (chairs the Audit Committee), Livingstone International University of Tourism Excellence and Business Management, and the project board of the Women’s Bank Zambia Limited. Her past board experiences include Chairman of SOS Children’s Villages Zambia and the Government owned Hostels Board of Management. Ms Lumpa also serves as an investment panellist on the Malawi Innovation Challenge Fund, an impact investment fund of DFID, UKAID and UNDP in Malawi, as well as being the Vice Chairman of the Taskforce for establishing the Zambia National Advisory Board for Impact Investing. She is the Patron of the University of Zambia Business and Economics Association and Vice Chairman of the Zambia Business and Professional Women Association.


Ms Lumpa holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration (Finance), a first degree in Public Administration and a postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Management. She successfully completed the University of Oxford Women Transforming Leadership Programme, and is working on her Civility certification with Civility Experts Inc.

Mrs. Regina M.K. MulengaMrs. Regina M.K Mulenga

Independent Financial Consultant


Mrs. Mulenga has over 25 years of a broad and diverse working experience covering both commercial and merchant banking with prime financial institutions across Corporate, Retail Banking and Operations having key clients as Central Banks, Commercial banks, Medium and Large National companies and portfolios of Small and Medium Enterprises including Agricultural sector business. Her experience spans from being a financial control assistant at Citibank Zambia limited in 1991 to spearheading the establishment of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMA) segments banking proposition for Barclays from 2007 to 2010. She has served as Retail and Business Banking Director at Barclays Bank and was later in charge of managing Business Banking Portfolio in 2018 just before leaving the bank.


Mrs. Mulenga is currently a board member of the Micro Finance Zambia Limited Board and chairs the credit and Risk Board committees. Her past board experiences include vice chairman of the National Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research ( NISIR), chair man of the Administration and Finance Committee  (NISIR) from 2007 to 2013 and chairperson of the Negotiating teams of the Privatization in Zambia in 1996.


She holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Lincolnshire & Humberside University, London and is partly qualified at the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants from the London school of Accountancy.
